Liz discovered her passion for the beauty industry while playing the notorious Truvy Jones from her high school production of Steel Magnolias. As a Theatre major at Towson University, Liz had the opportunity to learn all aspects of production, including costume and set design. She has always had an eye for the Aesthetics. Even though much of her training at Towson involved being on the stage, she found herself being drawn to help those backstage with hair and makeup. After completing her Bachelor of Arts a semester early, Liz packed her dreams and set off to a journey in New Jersey where she continued her Beauty education at Artistic Academy in Morris Plains. Liz began her career at Zoku Salon in Summit while attending Cosmetology school. At Zoku, she had the amazing opportunity to learn all aspects of the Beauty business first hand. She was blessed to have learned in depth Color theories, applications and lines, such as Goldwell, L’Oreal, Redken and Schwarzkopf from New York City’s finest Colorists. As a Color Specialist, Liz brings life to all types of hair, combining foiling and balayage techniques she expanded on in NYC. Liz believes in embracing the hair’s natural texture and creating accustomed color palettes that bring out the very best of her client’s skin tones. She prides herself in developing multi-dimensional colors that create movement, while protecting the integrity of the hair. As a fun and witty red head herself, rest assured your appointment or hair will never be dull!

Alexa grew up in a small town in Delaware always stealing her moms red lipstick, purple eyeshadow, and sparkly clips to put in her hair. Growing up she always had a huge imagination, creativity, and an artistic side to her. In grade school, she majored in visual arts and also took chorus, dabbled in acting, and danced for over 9 years. Her parents and teachers agreed she thought outside the box and was always searching for different ways she could express her art and creativity. By the age of 16, she started doing make up for weddings. Her babysitter foresaw her talent and hired her for make up at her wedding which included all 5 of her bridesmaids and mother of the bride. Alexa knew at that moment she was destined to become a professional make up artist and hairstylist. After she graduated high school, she decided to move to the state of New Jersey, following her dream of becoming a cosmetologist. She started cosmetology school in August of 2013 and graduated in May of 2014 at the top of her class. She is now certified in Keratin treatments, great lengths extensions, air brush make up, and is constantly continuing education to better herself in her craft. She has worked for make up brands such as Bare Minerals, Too Faced, and she is an Arbonne Consultant. She loves to work with brands that are cruelty free and better for your health and skin. She began her career at Milagro Spa of Manasquan as a make up artist. Before joining L Studio in March of 2016, she worked as a designer Stylist at JcPenney styling salon. In addition to her love of the industry, Alexa is passionate about making people look and feel beautiful. Expressing her art and creativity in such a way as painting a face or sculpturing someones hair has been life changing. When she’s not working with clients, she is happy at home caring for her puppy Bailey, hanging out with family & friends, and going to the beach.
Carolyn began her career in the hair industry eight years ago in Princeton, New Jersey. Always attracted to hair, fashion, and makeup, Carolyn knew at an early age that this was her passion. She began her studies as early as high school, and quickly moved into the art of dry haircutting in Philadelphia. She loves sculpting hair in order for the client to receive the most manageable cut and style for their individual needs. Dry haircutting is a special technique in which the texture of the hair is best represented. Carolyn is continuously exploring the world of color and styling education. She has already developed techniques and skill from companies such as, but not limited to, Wella, Redken, Lanza, Paul Mitchell, Matrix, Alfaparf, and Goldwell.
Julie (Floor Manager)
Julie got her start in the salon industry early in high school experimenting with her own hair. She has always had a passion for creative looks, bright colors and would often come up with new concepts for her hair stylist to try on her. While Julie would get her hair done in the salon, she would ask her stylist question after question. Impressed with Julie’s enthusiasm for hair, outgoing personality, and artistic eye she encouraged her to go to cosmetology school.
Julie graduated from Monmouth County Vocational School in 2008 and immediately began working as an assistant at 3-Sixty Hair and Nail Salon in Eatontown. She continued her education after school, taking classes and receiving certifications in Redken color, keratin treatments, waxing, and formal hairstyling. After about a year, she moved to a salon in Sea Bright where she was a full time hair stylist. While she loved interacting with her clients and making them look and feel beautiful, she still felt like something was missing. It wasn’t long before Julie realized as much as she loves styling hair, she would be better utilized as a manager.
As the Floor Manager of L Studio, Julie has never felt more at home. She prides herself on providing excellent customer service to every client who walks through the door and our clients would agree!
